The McLovins and Local Talent at Garcias

Catch Local Talent at 9 p.m. on Friday night and The McLovins on Saturday. Read the band descriptions from Garica’s below. Doors at 5 p.m., tickets are $7-$10

The McLovins

McLovins specialize in the creation of dynamic and improvised sound, influenced by the members’ disparate and eclectic musical influences. The band currently includes Jason Ott, Jake Huffman, Justin Berger and Atticus Kelly.

These College students from Connecticut, embrace simultaneous and intricate improvisation with a more versatile front line in which all members are singing in four-part harmony, writing lyrics & music, as well as expounding on one another’s musical ideas. Set list segues and fiery improvisations are a staple of the band’s performances, keeping their audience always guessing what’s coming next and wanting more!

In the short time McLovins have been performing together, they have been invited to appear at an impressive number of well-established, as well as many new music festivals, and some of the most well respected venues in the North East. These guys are constantly writing & playing music, to continue to build on their own foundation, towards a long career of Original Rock Music to their growing fan base, of all ages.

Local Talent

A couple of the members of Local Talent got a call 5 years ago to play music at the annual party for the Pemberwick Community Center. The neighborhood boys rushed to put together a band, and they’ve been together ever since. They stayed together and practiced for months until they felt they found the groove. Their second gig was a couple of months later at MacKenzie’s in Old Greenwich for Thanksgiving weekend and they’ve been running with it ever since.
Local Talent plays covers of classic rock and some choice selections of the 80’s and 90’s. Expect them to play songs that are a little off the beaten path by some of their favorite artists with some Zeppelin, The Beatles, Hendrix, Clapton, the Dead, and some Pearl Jam thrown in.
