Over the weekend the best wrestlers from across the Hudson Valley will compete in the sectional tournament.
The schools have been split up into two divisions and Rye will be competing in Division 1.

The Garnets will be sending two athletes to the tournament as Jeff Dempsey (145) is seeded 14th and Joe Simolocaj (170) is seeded eighth.
Dempsey comes into the tournament at 20-16 during his senior season and he will face off against Dale White, the three seed from John Jay (EF). White has put together a very good junior year with a record of 36-3.

Simolocaj is 26-7 in his senior year and he will be taking on Tappan Zee senior Valdon Djekovic who is currently 19-5 and ranked ninth.

Game: Byram Hills vs. Rye
Score: Rye Won 48-40
Highlights: Rye’s Rachel Egan scored 17 points for the Garnets and Katie Killip added 13.
Sport: Girls Basketball
Game: Blind Brook vs. Alexander Hamilton
Score: Hamilton Won 70-40
Highlights: Mai Hood led Hamilton with 20 points and Jasmine Robinson added 16 in the win. Blind Brook’s Shannon Reddy picked up 12 points in the loss.

In boys basketball, Rye heads to Byram Hills at 7 p.m.
In boys basketball, Blind Brook heads to Keio at 6 p.m.
In girls basketball, Blind Brook will host Keio at 6:15 p.m.
In ice hockey, Horace Greeley will host Rye Town/Harrison at Brewster Ice Rink at 3:30 p.m.
