Rye City School Board President Laura Slack made a statement about the district's position regarding a recent alleged hazing incident.

On Tuesday morning, three Rye teenagers charged in connection with an alleged hazing incident on June 1 appeared in Rye City Court, entering not guilty pleas to several misdemeanor charges. That night, at the Rye City School Board meeting, President Laura Slack read a prepared statement addressing the incident and the district's position.

Slack emphasized the investigation was a police matter, but said the district had a clear policy against hazing and bullying and such activity would not be tolerated if discovered.
