U.S. Soldier to Visit Midland Students
A Port Chester soldier who was stationed in Iraq will share his experience with children Friday.
On Friday, Dec. 7, Rye's Midland School students will learn about war first-hand. Port Chester native and United States military member John Evans will visit Mrs. Lauro's fourth grade class and their "buddies" in Mrs. Peelietieri's class.
He will speak about his experience being stationed in Iraq as part of a program that supports the school's Character Education Initiative focused on gratitued. The students will then write letters of gratitude to U.S. troops.
