Rye BOE Appoints Evangelist as Interim Assistant Superintendent

Rye City Schools has tapped Dr. Mary Anne Evangelist to fill in as Interim Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction.

“We are delighted to welcome Dr. Evangelist to the District and Central Administration,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Edward Shine. “I have confidence that she will provide valuable contributions that will help our academic program move forward.”

And so it is that Dr. Mary Anne Evangelist was welcomed to the Rye City School District at the Wednesday night Board of Education meeting. Evangelist was tapped to step in as Interim Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction.

"I'm also looking forward to working with a caring and committed group of educators and a community that is dedicated to providing the best for its children. My job this year is to keep Dr. Shine’s curriculum, instruction, and assessment going so that those important aspects of the District are in good shape for the new superintendent and assistant superintendent,” said Evangelist in a released statement from Rye City Schools.
