“Emotional and Mental Wellness Among Teens and Young Adults” Next Heard in Rye Lecture

“Emotional and Mental Wellness Among Teens and Young Adults” will be explored by Jordan Burnham at the March 21 Heard in Rye Speaker Series lecture. The lecture will be held in the Rye Middle School Multipurpose Room, located at 3 Parsons Street in Rye, starting at 7:30 pm. Admission is free. Everyone is welcome.

Jordan is part of the Active Minds Speakers Bureau, the nation’s premier young adult speakers bureau addressing mental health. During his presentations, he discusses mental health disorders and shares his own personal story of his struggle with depression. Jordan suffered internal pain during high school that prompted him to attempt to take his own life, and has since found emotional wellness through counseling and support from others. He will educate the audience about depression, suicide and coping mechanisms for young adults.

Jordan has been bringing inspiration to others around the country for over two years. He was honored as one of the “2010 Best in Philly” for his work with mental health and speaking, and has been featured in a number of print publications as well as local and national broadcast news segments. Jordan has also appeared in three documentaries, including “No, Kidding Me Too!” directed by Joey Pantoliano.
