Blind Brook Superintendent Update on Safety

A letter from Superintendent of schools William J. Stark, April, 2, 2013.

Dear Members of the Blind Brook Community:

On March 14th a focus group consisting of Board members, parents, administrators as well as lieutenant Gene Matthews of the Rye Brook police department participated in a safety and security debriefing session with the Altaris Consulting Group.

At this meeting valuable feedback was provided identifying several aspects of safety and security which the district will address into the summer. They also have assisted the Board and me in making critical decisions with regard to staffing, technology and infrastructure for the District.

In the interim, while police presence on both campuses continues, significant steps are being taken that will strengthen safety for our school community. Three architectural firms have responded to our Request for Proposals.

Once again, I ask that you make your feelings known to the Board and to me on this most important subject.
