When neighborly love just does not cut it!!

As a business owner for over 4 years now in Down town Rye, a different perspective on LOVE thy neighbor has emerged. Before owning a business supporting local was not even on my radar! The first thing that came to mind when holidays were approaching was "HIT the MALL" after the experience of opening up a mom and pop shop I see that it takes a village to sustain in business and the support of "YOU" the locals, do just that! We business owners are US because of YOU. along with that comes the ability to receive you when you come to town with a parking space. "Rye's Big Challenge" Parking. A future fantasy is to build parking to accommodate what it takes to flourish as a successful business in downtown Rye. As for now there are some great things we can do before the Fantasy come to life. Meeting at Starbucks for coffee? can you carpool? 5 kids from school could meet up at someone's house and travel together. Employee in Town? Can you take public transportation? Carpool to work? And MY all time favorite is if you see a business owner parked in town let them know you care about the town and ask them to MOVE IT... I for one have a business owner next to me that consistently parks in front of her store, or Candy Rox, for hours at a time blocking customer flow and  potential business for the town. IF we all parked on the street for hours  we would create a stillness, one that trades the convenience for the business owner to conveniently get to work while  sacrificing the ability to grow and help the community. Please if you see something say something!
