Westchester Has New Champ for the Best Tasting Water
In honor of National Water Drinking Week, the county held a test on Thursday to determine which municipality has the best tasting water.
The Westchester County Health Department today held a blind taste test to determine which city has the best tasting water. After polling hundreds of passers by in front of the Michaelian Office Building in White Plains—New Rochelle had the most votes.
Seven municipalities vied for the title. Last year's winner, Ossining, hoped for a—while Yonkers, which won for many years, hoped to regain its crown
Other water districts competing were Elmsford, Greenburgh Consolidated Water District #1, New Rochelle United Water, Peekskill, and White Plains.

, New Rochelle took the crown 67 out of 201 votes. The runner-up, Greenburgh, polled 29 votes, and White Plains came third, only one vote behind.
Previous winners were Ossining (2010), Yonkers (2009, 2007, 2004, 2003), Croton on Hudson (2008, 2006), and New Rochelle, which also won in 2005.
