Playland's Future: Astorino Set to Reveal What's Next

Announcement set for 11 a.m. today.

Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino is set to announce this morning what's next in the long-running effort to decide upon the future of Playland in Rye.

Previously, Astorino reveal that three proposals submitted to the county concerning future development at Playland deserve further consideration. Proposals submitted by Central Amusements International, LLC; Standard Amusements, LLC; and Sustainable Playland were cleared for further consideration.

At 11 a.m. at the Playland Ice Casino, Astorino is scheduled to talk more about the future of Playland, which is a county-owned park.

Let's look at the appropriateness of this post. First, it's clearly an ad because it points to a…Read More specific insurance agent at a specific agency to contact. Second, it attempts to hide being an ad behind what may be useful information (or not). Third, the "person" who posted it doesn't use their real name. Instead, they use a pseudonym Divorce Information NOW. That doesn’t seem terribly reassuring to me. This the third advertising post on the “announcements” space since Rye Patch converted to the new site layout. Seems a bit of a mess to me. But hopefully someone will come along and figure out who the real poster is, their link to the advertised agent and agency, and then delete the post. After all, if it’s an ad, it should be labeled as such and the poster should pay for having it run. If that doesn’t happen, Patch won’t be able to pay its employees to keep real content on the site.
