Final City Council Meeting for City Of Rye

The City of Rye will be saying goodbye to Mayor Douglas French and saying hello to Newly Elected Mayor Joe Sack.


The City of Rye will be having their final city council meeting for 2013 on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at 8pm. This meeting will discuss several topics including but not limited to:

 The Petition of Lazz Development/Pawling Holdings to change the zoning designation of County-owned property located on Theodore Avenue and North Street to allow the construction of affordable senior housing, a Continuation of the Public hearing on the proposed 2014 Budget, Resolution to adopt the 2014 Budget and establish the 2014 tax levy and 2014 tax rate, Resolution to add Chapter 177, “Taxation”, Article XII “Exemption for Historic Districts” to the Rye City Code to provide tax exemptions for improvements to historic properties, Presentation by the Playland Advisory Committee on the Sustainable Playland meeting held on December 11, 2013, Resolution to establish the Whitby Castle Committee to oversee the response and negotiations to the Rye Golf Club’s RFP for Whitby Castle.

The next regular meeting of the City Council will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at 8:00 pm in Council Chambers at City Hall.
