April Fools Day; Schools Continue Budget Talks

1. Back to School

Remember that today is April Fools Day, so you might find a whoopee cushion on your chair, your kids might leave a frog in your purse, or you could be victim of a more clever and elaborate April Fools joke, so be prepared. Here are some good (harmless) ideas for the prankster inside of you.  

3. Susan Epstein to be Named to Rye Brook Village Board

Newly elected village Mayor Paul Rosenberg will appoint Susan Epstein to fill his vacant trustee seat at a special village board meeting at 7:15 p.m. in Village Hall.

4. Budget Work Sessions Start in Rye Brook

The Village of Rye Brook will begin its budget work sessions at 7:30 p.m. tonight in Village Hall. Tonight’s discussion will cover library, police, parks and recreation, fire and EMS, miscellaneous.

On Wednesday, April 3 at 7:30 p.m. they will hold another work session to discuss building, senior services, engineering/public works and treasurer/IT.

 5. Education Boards Continue Budget Discussions

The Blind Brook BOE will meet at 8 p.m. tonight in the George C. Trautwein theater at BBMS/HS. Here is the agenda. 

The Rye City School District BOE will hold a special meeting on April 2 at 8 p.m. in the multipurpose room at Rye Middle School.

Prior to the meeting, the Board will meet in Executive Session for the review of the employment history of current and prospective employees, negotiations pursuant to the Taylor Law, review of current litigation and litigation strategy.

On the agenda are fiscal, special education, personnel and business items that ordinarily come before the Board as well as further discussion of the 2013-2014 budget.  

Members of the public are welcome and encouraged to attend this meeting of the Board and to speak during the public hearing on the budget.
