Attempted Identity Theft in Rye
A Rye resident reported that someone used their name and social security number to attempt to open fraudulent accounts with their identity.

A White Birch Drive resident was tricked into giving out personal information over the phone, according to a police report. Her banks were notified and are investigating the incident.
