Rye Police Blotter: Dog Feces Smeared on Car and Roof of House
A rundown of police events in the Rye area.
Rye Police have dealt with several incidents during the last couple of weeks, some of which have involved unconventional forms of vandalism and other run of the mill incidents, including bike thefts and graffiti. Here are some of the most interesting incident from the most recent Rye Police blotter:
Unconventional Driving
On Aug. 25 a Forest Avenue resident reported that a large, new, white SUV drove across her lawn in a circle causing damage. The vehicle and its owner were later found by police and will make restitution for the damage.

Larceny
On Aug. 25 a Maple Drive resident reported a fence stolen and damaged from her property. She explained that this was an ongoing situation regarding a portable fence with a "private road" sign attached to it. The fence was repaired and placed back on the private road.

Vandalism via Dog Excrement
On Aug. 17 an officer was sent to Hughes Avenue on a call of dog excrement being smeared all over a house and car overnight. The victim explained that when she went out to retrieve the newspaper she discovered apparent dog excrement all over the outside of the door handle. Upon further investigation she discovered a plastic bag of excrement on the windshield of her parked car in the driveway and also thrown on the roof of the house landing on the sky lights.
Damage at Milton School
On Aug. 16 a Rye City School District employee reported damage to the roof of Milton School. He said that sometime overnight, unknown parties climbed onto the roof of Milton School and damaged asphalt shingles along with a cement water drain. The drain was thrown off the roof. Paint was also thrown off the roof causing damage to the blacktop area outside the classrooms in the rear of the school.
Bathroom Graffiti
On Aug. 16 it was reported that a building on Milton Road was vandalized. Graffiti was sprayed on the stall walls of the bathroom.
Bike Thefts
On Aug. 15 a Dearborn Avenue resident reported that two bikes were stolen from his garage, which is detached from his residence and faces Milton Road. The bikes belonged to his daughters.
