Rye Brook Woman Accused of Trying to Steal $400 Antique

Police news, March 19 through March 25.

A 50-year-old Rye Brook woman was charged with sixth-degree larceny after she allegedly tried to swipe a $400 bronze statue from Marvin Gardens in Wilton, Ct. She was arrested on March 23 at 11:31 a.m.

According to police, Nikki Shapiro purchased items from the antiques store. When the owner was helping load items into Shaprio's car, she saw the statue in the car. The owner then removed the statue and called police.

She was released on a promise to appear in court April 2.
