Roanoke Ave. Shooting Suspects Appear in Rye Town Court

Two men extradited from Georgia.

The long arm of the Rye Brook Police Department extends all the way to Georgia.

Two men wanted in connection with the Sept. 17 Roanoake Avenue shooting – Rasheed Duncombe, 23, and Kimel Mitchell, 18 –  appeared in Rye Town Court Wednesday morning after their arrest Oct. 20 and subsequent extradition from Albany, GA.

A third suspect Demar Lewin, 22, of the Bronx, was arrested in Co-Op City on Sept. 21 and also appeared in court.

All three men have been charged with second-degree attempted murder, first-degree robbery and first-degree assault.

All three are being held without bail by at the Westchester County Jail in Valhalla. Duncombe faces a hearing on Jan. 18, 2012, Lewin faces a hearing on Feb. 1, 2012, and Mitchell faces a hearing on Feb. 15, 2012.

According to Rye Brook Police Chief Gregory Austin, two men were shot Sept. 17 at a Rye Brook residence after a dispute over marijuana.

after the Village of Rye Brook Building Department inspected the house after the incident. Martinez pleaded guilty and paid fines for the same charges in 2006.
