Residents in Flood Prone Areas: Move Cars to Higher Ground

A message from the City of Rye police.

Hurricane Sandy is expected to affect the City of Rye beginning late Sunday/early Monday, October 29/30th. In preparation for the storm, residents of flood-prone areas should consider parking their vehicles on high ground beginning on Sunday, especially if you plan to be out of town or at work during the storm. Please note that the Highland Hall Lot, Car Park #1, portions of Car Park #2, and the City Hall Lot are prone to flooding, as are sections of streets adjacent to the Blind Brook.

Parking restrictions in the Highland/Cedar and train station parking lots will be relaxed during the storm to accommodate vehicles displaced from those areas.
