Santa, Camps Are Here: Rye Rec Winter Guide Available

The Rye Recreation Department’s winter brochure is out (and attached as a PDF) with information and sign-ups for a free phone call from Santa, a chance to mail the Father Christmas and plenty of holiday-themed family activities and details on camps for kids during the December and February school breaks.

Christmas happenings for kids and families

• “Ho Ho Ho! Santa Is Calling”: Free and for residents only. Ages 3-7. Santa can telephone your child at home. A special registration form is required and available at Rye Recreation. Mon. or Tues., Dec. or 10, 6 to 8 p.m.
• “Pancakes with Santa”: Dec. 14, 10:30 a.m. at Damiano Recreation Center, $15 fee per registrant, non-residents add $2. Limited space available. “Children will have the opportunity to get their picture taken with Santa.”
• “Holiday Bonfire and Sing-a-Long”: 5 p.m. on Dec. 8 at Rye Recreation Park. Holiday show starts at 4 p.m. For more details call 914-967-2535.

Camps during winter breaks

December Vacation

• “The Winter Wonderland”: K-4. 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Fri., Dec. 27 at Damiano Recreation Center. $55 resident, $60 non-resident. “It’s the most wonderful time of the year and we’ll use our ‘Mad’ mixtures to create a special snowball that will never melt!”
• “Bugs & Beasts”: K-4. 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Fri., Jan. 3. at Damiano Recreation Center. $55 resident, $60 non-resident. “Explore the world of creepy, crawly creatures and the animal kingdom.”
• “Golf Camp-Tee It Up with TGA!”: K-8. 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Dec. 27 at Osborn Gym. $60 residents, $70 non-residents.

February Vacation

• “Golf Camp-Tee It Up with TGA!”: K-8. 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Feb. 18 to 20 at Osborn Gym. $165 residents, $190 non-residents. “TGA Premier Junior Golf is bringing the golf course to you.”
