Hurricanes, Nature, and the Future of New York City

There will be a rare opportunity to hear a leading voice in ecology on Saturday, July 26, at 4 pm. Dr. Eric W. Sanderson, Senior Conservation Ecologist at the Wildlife Conservation Society, and author of the acclaimed book, Mannahatta: A Natural History of New York City, will speak at the Meeting House on "Hurricanes, Nature, and the Future of New York City." The program is part of the Bird Homestead nonprofit’s lecture series, “After the Storm: Toward a more Resilient Shoreline.” The series is funded, in part, by a grant from the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Admission is free. Donations will be gratefully accepted. The Meeting House is located at 624 Milton Road, across from the Dock Deli.
