Updated: Warning: Rain, Flooding: National Weather Service

The region is being inundated.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties through 11:15 a.m.

Flooding has closed sections of roads across the lower Hudson Valley. Rainfall of 1 to 1 1/2 inches could occur on top of the almost 2 inches received so far. The NWS warns that just 1 foot of flowing water is enough to sweep a car off the road. Most flood-related deaths occur in cars.

In Bedford, delays are being reported on Route 121 in both directions at Indian Hill Road due to flooding.
