Former Mayor of Rye to serve 91st District.

Before an overflow crowd packed into Rye City Hall, former Rye Mayor Steve Otis took the oath of office as a New York State Assemblyman on Saturday afternoon.  Otis was sworn in by Senator Suzi Oppenheimer before a crowd that included current and former elected officials from villages, towns, cities, the county and state.

Senators, congressmen, assemblymen, current and former mayors from New Rochelle to Peekskill joined Rye council members, family and friends and listened as Otis thanked each and every one of them by name before being sworn in by Oppenheimer.

The 91st Assembly District includes Rye, Rye Brook, Mamaroneck, New Rochelle, Larchmont and Port Chester. Otis served as Rye's Mayor from 1998-2009.

Is that the same bible Otis used in Rye when as Mayor he swore he would uphold all the laws of Rye, the laws of the State of NY and the United States Constitution? Did anyone notice if he was crossing his fingers?
