Whitby Castle Restaurant to Open March 22; Happy St. Patrick's Day

Five things you need to know for today through the weekend, March 14-17.

1.      Rye Golf Club's Whitby Castle Restaurant Opens March 22

The interim general manager of the Rye Gold Club told Patch yesterday that the club restaurant at Whitby Castle will open on Friday, March 22. Check back with Patch for a full story about the GM, Jim Lopolito, and his plans for the club and restaurant this week.

Also, all Westchester County Golf Clubs will open this Friday, March 15.

 2.      St. Patrick’s Day

Happy St. Patrick’s Day weekend! This Sunday, March 17 is St. Patrick’s Day, a cultural and religious holiday that commemorates the arrival of Christianity in Ireland.  Happy celebrating!

3.      Extra Trains Running for St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations March 16

The MTA will have extra half-hourly trains running on the New Haven line on Saturday, March 16, the day of the New York City St. Patrick’s Day parade. Also, no alcohol will be allowed on trains, platforms or stations and MTA Officers will be checking.

4.      One Day University Program on Lincoln Comes to The Osborn

The public is invited to attend a One Day University program at The Osborn on March 16 from 10am to 12pm, “Spielberg’s ‘Lincoln’: Fact or Fiction”. The program will be presented by Professor Louis P. Masur of Rutgers University, a leading authority on the subject. Read more here.

 

5.      Rye Brook Youth Soccer Spring Kickoff
