The acquisition was closed on August 8, 2013 for an undisclosed amount. It adds 12,000 accounts to Paraco's customer base.Paraco Gas is a family owned and operated business that has been serving residential, commercial and industrial customers throughout Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess, and across New York State and the Northeast corridor, for more than three decades. Paraco Gas provides over 50 million gallons of propane annually to more than 90,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers in nine states. The company operates 29 propane distribution facilities and employs more than 300 workers.

Paraco Gas CEO Joseph Armentano, whose late father Pat established the company in 1968 in Mount Vernon, says that AmeriGas was very selective about choosing a company to acquire its propane customer base -- ultimately choosing Paraco because of its long standing tradition of operating excellence and deep commitment and service to its customers.

“Paraco Gas has been serving propane customers for over 35 years,” Armentano said. “We have expanded our customer base through growth and acquisition, making us large enough to provide the best value in propane products and services, while meeting customer needs with the highest level of personal service and attention because we are driven by family owned and operated principles.”
