Kevin Bacon's ‘The Following’ Filming in Rye Today

Expect traffic delays while Fox shoots scenes for its series.

Dozens of crew cars, cameras and grips moved through the streets of Rye today to film scenes for FOX’s The Following, according to Rye Deputy City Clerk Diane Moore and Rye City Police.

Expect delays near Playland Parkway this afternoon, where crews are expected to shoot until around 8 or 9 p.m., Moore said.

The scene will involve moving vehicles, so there will be no permanent closures, but short-term delays may result, according to Rye City police.

Trucks arrived in town around 6 a.m. and later in the morning cameras were rolling near Purchase and Elm streets. The crews are set up around Morgan’s Fish House and will be shooting inside the restaurant as well.

The Following is a new television drama to air on Fox during the 2012-2013 season. Kevin Bacon is the star, creator and executive producer of the series, which is being produced by Outerbanks Entertainment and Warner Brothers Television.

Let's look at the appropriateness of this post. First, it's clearly an ad because it points to aRead More specific insurance agent at a specific agency to contact. Second, it attempts to hide being an ad behind what may be useful information (or not). Third, the "person" who posted it doesn't use their real name. Instead, they use a pseudonym Divorce Information NOW. That doesn’t seem terribly reassuring to me. This the third advertising post on the “announcements” space since Rye Patch converted to the new site layout. Seems a bit of a mess to me. But hopefully someone will come along and figure out who the real poster is, their link to the advertised agent and agency, and then delete the post. After all, if it’s an ad, it should be labeled as such and the poster should pay for having it run. If that doesn’t happen, Patch won’t be able to pay its employees to keep real content on the site.
