Crowds Enjoy Holiday Fun at 10th Annual Mistletoe Magic

Hundreds turned out for a day of festive fun.

Despite the chilly temperatures, the Rye Chamber of Commerce's 10th annual Mistletoe Magic brought hundreds of people to Purchase street Sunday afternoon for an afternoon of fun. Dozens of children danced along with a dj, while older kids climbed a large climbing wall. A puppet master thrilled parents and kids with dancing puppets, stores offered crafts. Long lines of people waited for pony, carriage and trolly rides. And even Santa was there to listen to requests from eager children.

All the Chili Cook-off contestents entries were gone by 2 p.m. Rye Chamber President Sally Wright said.  The Rye Grill and Bar won the people's choice award. Ruby's Oyster Bar came in second and Town Dock was voted third best by public voters. Each of the top three were only one vote apart, said Twinkletoes owner who organized the event, Denise McDonald. The Town Dock won the critic's choice award.
