In order to continue offering free food and clothing to eligible residents of Greenwich, CT, Stamford, CT, and Port Chester, Neighbor to Neighbor of Greenwich has added a part-time position to its staff.
Pamela M. Talgo of West Harrison has joined Neighbor to Neighbor in the newly created position of Operations Coordinator. In addition to overseeing Neighbor’s robust Volunteer Program, which involves the support and training of more than 150 committed volunteers, Pam will work to increase the number and scope of food drives in the community.
Pam holds a Master's in Physical Education as well as a law degree. She currently sits on the Board of Directors of My Sister’s Place, a shelter for battered women located in White Plains.
Neighbor to Neighbor says it has seen a sustained 55 percent increase in demand for services since the start of the economic downturn in 2008. Neighbor receives no government funding for its operations and relies heavily on food donated by the community to stock its food pantry shelves.
Also recently joining Neighbor to Neighbor is Norwalk, CT, resident Jean Davis-French. Jean brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her role as Administrator. Jean received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and has a very diverse background that includes extensive experience in human resources and administrative support in both corporate and non-profit environments. Jean will oversee all aspects of Neighbor’s day to day administration. We are thrilled to welcome her to our team.
Jean and Pam join newly-appointed Executive Director Nancy Coughlin. Coughlin, a Darien, CT, resident, worked most recently as the interim Executive Director of the YWCA Darien/Norwalk. She began her new role at Neighbor to Neighbor on Oct. 1, 2012, taking over for interim co-Executive Directors Wendy Blumenthal and Jody Breakell.
“Starting just before Hurricane Sandy and the busy Thanksgiving season was trial by fire,” said Coughlin, “but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Neighbor to Neighbor is a unique and resilient organization. Our committed volunteers and Board of Directors are tireless in their efforts to ensure we provide the best service to our clients we can. I am very proud to be a part of Neighbor to Neighbor.”
