This week Rye said goodbye to snow and hello to ice and slush. Instead of inches of snow, the city was hit with thick ice that caused the school district to close on Feb. 2.

While students caught up on much needed sleep and work, the was as busy as ever. Young children, adults and teens cozied up to do some reading, while the newly renovated computer center was busy with people working, playing games or just passing the time.

The Super Bowl was this past Sunday, and many families and their friends gathered to watch the Green Bay Packers take the XLV championship title. Those who weren't avid football fans went shopping downtown.

Rye High School was filled with lots of activites this past week. The junior varsity girl's basketball team beat Port Chester on Feb. 8, 53-23. The school's A Capella group, Rythmn on Rye, performed a special performance at the library.
