Fans to Throw 'X Factor' Viewing Party For Local Star in White Plains

A viewing party for Carly Rose Sonenclar's appearance on "X Factor" tonight will be taped live.

In the last and final round of X Factor tonight at 8 p.m., Mamaroneck resident Carly Rose Sonenclar will perform a duet with LeAnn Rimes, as she competes against Tate Stevens/Little Big Town and Fifth Harmony/Demi Lovato, in a race to win a $5 million recording contract.

To show support for Carly, a viewing party for "Carly's Angels"— as her fans are known—will be held tonight at Archbishop Stepanic High School on 950 Mamaroneck Ave. in White Plains. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the first 1,000 fans will be allowed in. X Factor will film the audience live at 7:30 p.m. to appear on the show.

Admission will be free and promoters ask that the community show their support by bringing "I Love Carly" posters, t-shirts, etc...

Donations and support have been provided by several Mamaroneck businesses such as ABC Cakes, Balloon World and Trotta's Pharmacy in Harrison. ABC Cakes has even created mini Carly Rose cupcakes in honor of the occasion.

After the performance, fans can vote as many times as they'd like by texting a four digit code that will appear on the screen, calling the toll-free number that appears or online; additional voting information can be accessed here.

Tomorrow night, fans will find out who won the final round of X Factor.

Stay tuned for Patch's coverage of tonight's event.

Let's look at the appropriateness of this post. First, it's clearly an ad because it points to aRead More specific insurance agent at a specific agency to contact. Second, it attempts to hide being an ad behind what may be useful information (or not). Third, the "person" who posted it doesn't use their real name. Instead, they use a pseudonym Divorce Information NOW. That doesn’t seem terribly reassuring to me. This the third advertising post on the “announcements” space since Rye Patch converted to the new site layout. Seems a bit of a mess to me. But hopefully someone will come along and figure out who the real poster is, their link to the advertised agent and agency, and then delete the post. After all, if it’s an ad, it should be labeled as such and the poster should pay for having it run. If that doesn’t happen, Patch won’t be able to pay its employees to keep real content on the site.

Don't feel so bad. The Patch doesn't even acknowledge that PC is a waterfront community. We've allRead More been shorted.
