Rye Judge Seals Burglary Record As Bestiality Story Leaks
Rye Police say Judge Joseph Latwin ordered court documents related to a bestiality case sealed to prevent press access.
Clerks at Rye City Court on Thursday denied knowledge of the Feb. 9 burglary arrest of Nicaj Kutjim, 43, of 58 Peck Ave., and Rye Police refused to release copies of the arrest report saying Judge Joseph Latwin had "sealed" the arrest and court reports. However, information on the case is trickling out.
Lucian Chalfen of the Westchester District Attorney's office confirmed Kutjim is due to appear again in Rye City Court on March 6.
Published reports Wednesday said the Westchester District Attorney's Office confirmed the case involved bestiality.
A resident of the Rye Colony Apartments, who ask not to be identified, told Rye Patch that Kutjim has been employed as a superintendent at the cooperative apartments for a number of years.
Residents at Rye Colony Apartments received a letter notifying them Kutjim's keys to the property had been confiscated and that he was given two weeks to vacate the premises following the incident.

Regardless of sealed reports or not, it's evident this man is sicko...Why in God's name would you ever do such an act..Does he not see that people watch you. Especially being a superintendent..You are always being watched. Don't worry lets see what happens March 6. I hope they put the creep away for awhile..And I guarantee he'll have one hell of a time trying to get another job!!

100 years ago they said the same thing about men with men so perhaps we are evolving, considering the new marriage laws in NYS? 20 years from now your comments may be considered Anti-Choice or Bashing? This is, after all, Rye, NY, the Liberal Bastion of the Country and it is the 21st Century, you know. What people do in the privacy of their own home etc., etc.

Watch Rye officials use yet another pretext to bar the public (that would be YOU Rye Media Types) on March 6th. And BTW, where is the Westchester County DA's Office on STAR double dippers these days. In Suffolk County, which is I think still in New York State - the DA's out there call people certifying to STAR exemptions on rental properties - "felons".....

1/2 or Rockland County certify reantal properties for STAR. Those in charge know but are afraid to move on it....we need a State Investigation into the entire Asessors Office!!

What is the justification for sealing the record?

It's not clear to me, so I'm going to continue to try and access them. Not for prurient interest, but to make sure the information presented is accurate.

Re sealed record, probably an excess of caution by judge given the inflammatory nature of the allegations. Such a bizarre crime, sick, Rye would have huge liability if they can't prove the case.

Editor, the comments of "anonymous" are consistently too crude for Patch, even to last a few minutes before they are deleted. Can't he/she be blocked from commenting at all?

There are two charges: burglary, 2nd degree and misdemeanor sexual misconduct. He is accused of unlawfully entering a residence and of ... sexual misconduct.

Thanks for the info Renea. You think perhaps his main reason for going into the place was to sex up the animal, then used robbery as a cover-up? Nasty!

Maybe thats why the police report is sealed? If it wasn't would the video be accessible to the public? I don't know, just speculating.

The people in Rye seem real interested in viewing this movie. VERY INTERESTING! I wonder what THAT is about?
