Library storytimes & fun in Westchester County this week

Story times at Westchester County libraries the week of September 23, 2013

There's nothing like a storytime to provide free fun for young kids... they give parents a bit of a break, too, while their kids listen and learn. Here are some storytime highlights for Westchester County this week:

MONDAY

Monday, September 23: Anime Manga gaming club meeting at Mahopac Public Library at Mahopac Library. Join other teens with the same interests. Through out the year, each week has a different agenda - join a video game session, screen an anime movie, join a card game tournament and more!

Monday, September 23: Teen Anime Manga Club at (Peekskill) The Field Library. Can't get enough anime, manga, and all things otaku? Come to The Field Library's new Anime Manga Club! We will watch an Anime, discuss future plans for the club, and enjoy snacks.

Monday, September 23: Mother Goose Time at White Plains Library at White Plains Public Library. Rhymes, songs and stories that encourage early literacy skills for the littlest library-goer from birth to 2 years old with caregiver.

Monday, September 23: Kindergarten Book Club at Somers Public Library. We will read a story, share a snack and do a craft or game. For children in Kindergarten only.

Monday, September 23: Baby Lap Time at Katonah Village Library at Katonah Village Library. Baby Lap Time ~for infants to 18 months and caregiver (Voted Best in Westchester 2013!) Mondays 11 am. Drop in.

TUESDAY

Tuesday, September 24: Kiddie Kabaret at Scarsdale Library at Scarsdale Public Library. Nancie Schnur’s program uses puppets and songs, both traditional and original, to bring music and fun to toddlers ages 1 ½ to 3 ½ and their caregivers. Nancie appears once a month at the library on a Tuesday at 10:30 am.

Tuesday, September 24: Pre School Story Time at Somers Public Library. For children ages 4-5. Stories, songs, fingerplays and a craft.

Tuesday, September 24: First Grade Book Club at Somers Public Library. We will read a story, share a snack and do a craft or game. For children in 1st grade only.

WEDNESDAY

Wednesday, September 25: Bilingual Family Night at White Plains Library at White Plains Public Library. Storytime in English & Spanish for children and their families. Includes craft & a cookie snack.

Wednesday, September 25: Second Grade Book Club at Somers Public Library. We will read a story, share a snack and do a craft or game. For children in 2nd grade only.

Wednesday, September 25: Mother Goose Story Time at Katonah Village Library for 18-36 months at Katonah Village Library. Mother Goose ~ 18 months to 36 months and caregiver Wednesday 11 am Drop in. September: 18th, 25th October: 2nd, 9th, and 16th (No Oct 23rd or 30th)

Wednesday, September 25: Storytime for Preschoolers at Highland Falls Library at Highland Falls Library. Storytime for Pre-schoolers (ages 3-5), Wednesdays at 1:15pm or Thursdays at 10:30am. These sessions are seasonal, each registered child stays on the list for the entire session (Sign-ups required).

THURSDAY

Thursday, September 26: K-2 Club at White Plains Library at White Plains Public Library. Afterschool storytime for Kindergarten-grade 2 with a craft and cookie snack.

Thursday, September 26: Storytime for Preschoolers at Highland Falls Library at Highland Falls Library. Storytime for Pre-schoolers (ages 3-5), Wednesdays at 1:15pm or Thursdays at 10:30am. Thursday, September 26: Mother Goose for Walkers-9:30am or 10:30am at Scarsdale Public Library. Mother Goose Time is a program for babies from birth to age 2 with an adult caregiver. This language enrichment program uses rhymes, songs and stories with baby and caregiver to stimulate listening, learning, speaking and reading skills.

Thursday, September 26: Stories & Crafts at Katonah Village Library for ages 3-5 at Katonah Village Library. Stories and Crafts ~ for ages 3, 4, 5 years old. Mondays at 2pm or Thursdays at 10:30am. Drop in! Monday at 2pm, or Thursday at 10:30am

FRIDAY

Friday, September 27: Toddler Time at Katonah Village Library at Katonah Village Library. Toddler Time ~ ages 2 1/2 – 3 1/2 and caregiver. Enjoy songs, stories and a craft. Friday at 10:30am: September: 20th, 27th, October: 4th, 11th, 18, and 25th
