Theresa Kump Leghorn is the Director of the Museum of Arts & Culture, the only Regents-chartered museum in a school in the State of New York. Theresa Kump Leghorn attended New York University, where she pursued a double major in Art History and Journalism. After graduating she became a journalist, working as an editor at several national publications and traveling extensively. With the birth of her first child she shifted gears and became a freelance writer, contributing articles to major national magazines including Parents, Parenting, Child, Travel & Leisure, Healthy Kids, Working Woman, Fit Pregnancy, and Brides. In 1994 she was named a finalist in the American Society of Journalists and Authors "Article of the Year" competition. Theresa Kump Leghorn worked from 2002 to 2006 as Marketing Associate for Family Services of Westchester, a non-profit social services agency. Theresa Kump Leghorn received the Marie Vitt Humanitarian Award from the Friends of Sound Shore Medical Center for extraordinary contribution to the community and commitment to volunteerism in 2001. In 2003 she and her husband Tom Leghorn were honored by the New Rochelle and Huguenot Historical Association for dedication to the City of New Rochelle. In 2009 the couplewere honored to receive the first annual Dorothy Allen Community Service Award from United Way of Westchester and Putnam.
