You want to take a day trip in the Hudson Valley but don't have a car. Where would you go?
A couple from Denmark visiting New York City said they wanted to take a day trip "upstate." They don't have a car, so they'd have to rely on mass transit, which in this case, would probably mean Metro-North. Most people use Metro-North primarily as a commuter train, to get back and forth to the city for work or entertainment. What about taking Metro-North (or other mass transit) from the city for a fun day trip in Westchester, Rockland or Putnam? I thought I'd ask the experts—Patch readers. Where should this Danish couple go to have a great day out in the Hudson Valley without using a car to get there? Let us know in the comments section below—they're only here for a week!

Visit the Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk, CT for a hands-on look at deep-sea dwellers.
Even those plagued with nightmares about ending up like the swimmers in Jaws will enjoy a trip to this Connecticut aquarium. From IMAX movies to a steady rotation of exhibitions all year round, visitors will realize the different species who inhabit the deep (i.e. the Long Island Sound) are not so scary after all—while having a little fun, too. Even the greatest of shark-phobes will sleep a little easier after petting troves of them in touch tanks on premises. Kids: Did you know that Timon from Disney classic, The Lion King, was a meerkat? Admit it – you wish you were there. But four decades isn't too late to immerse yourself in the vibes, culture and history of Woodstock.
From the crackling tone of Jimi Hendrix's guitar during his infamous 'Star Spangled Banner,' to the mud-pits, mayhem and Metallica in '94, music and Woodstock have been inseperable concepts for four decades. Sammy - I guess you haven't been on Cortland Street for a while. Once the sun sets it's no place for tourists.The predators come out after dark. I personally know 2 people who have been attacked on Cortland in the past week. One spent the night in the hospital after being mugged and robbed. Who knows how many others go unreported.
