With 82 percent of the districts reporting, Judy Myers and David Gelfarb have apparently won their races for County Legislator.
It was still early Tuesday night at Morgan's Fish House in Rye. No poll numbers were available yet and the room filled with the Democratic candidates for Rye City Council, their friends and families hummed with nervous energy. Incumbent Judy Myers was also there, talking with supporters before setting out for stops in Mamaroneck and New Rochelle later in the evening. For just a moment, Myers was pensive about the race in District 7. "This has been the culmination of a lot of work over a lot of months," she said. Myers marveled just for a moment. "We've been at this since the primaries in August." The only thing left was the waiting. Myers seemed almost relieved election day had finally come. Now it was up to the voters. Rye City …

Reader Charmian Neary takes issue with Suzanna Keith's position of affordable housing.
Dear Editor: On September 24, Suzanna Keith, the Republican and Conservative candidate for County Legislator in district 7, submitted a letter to Patch in which she criticizes her opponent Judy Myers for being absent from a meeting to discuss the County’s affordable housing settlement. The truth is Suzanna had little or no interest in, or understanding of, the Affordable Housing Settlement until she decided to bail on her sworn role as Rye councilwoman –inexplicably and barely a year into her first term– and run for higher office. Yet here she is supposedly making points such as “The settlement lacked concrete definitions to cap the County’s financial exposure.” Although Suzanna is working furiously to memorize the Republican / …

The confession by county legislator Gordon Burrows to disorderly conduct - and 'not guilty' plea to possession of a controlled substance.
On March 1, a local attorney and public defender pleaded guilty in a Queensbury, N.Y. courthouse on behalf of County Legislator Gordon Burrows and mechanic Timothy Cacace to charges of cocaine possession (a misdemeanor) and disorderly conduct. Earlier today, the Queensbury Town Court made Burrows' confession available to the press, and it is attached. As stated in the confession, Burrows plead "not guilty" to the criminal charges of possession of a controlled substance, which he was witnessed to have been snorting in the parking lot of a Mobil station on Feb. 5. Within easy view of the Dunkin' Donuts workers, Burrows and his friend Timothy Cacace, who owns a service station on Central Park Ave. called Master Mechanix, were spotted using …

Westchester County Legislator Gordon Burrows and Timothy Cacace plead guilty in court to cocaine possession, disorderly conduct.
QUEENSBURY, N.Y. – Westchester County legislator and Yonkers resident Gordon Burrows pleaded guilty this morning to disorderly conduct related to a Feb. 5 arrest for suspected cocaine possession. Glens Falls attorney Joseph Brennan entered the plea on behalf of Burrows, 52, and his mechanic friend and fellow Yonkers resident Timothy Cacace, 50. Both men were originally charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. The charges were lessened after lawyers "worked out an agreement with the district attorney," according to Town Justice Robert McNally, who presided over the hearing this morning at 9:20 a.m. in Queensbury Town Court, about 50 miles north of Albany. The complete details of the plea …
