On a smaller scale, even the best communities have areas you might not to be walking around by yourself.
On a National scale the answer is "everywhere" as long as you are alert to your surroundings.
The thing that people forget (Or maybe try NOT to remember) is that America has technically been at war since 911.

Then the hurricane comes flood the basement and oh my god the roof is shot. No kidding, it was shot for years. This smells and no one is doing anything about it.
