The Rye Presbyterian Nursery School is a weekday nursery school for children ages 2 - 5. Founded in 1958 by a small group of church parents, today the school works to provide a healthy atmosphere where children can develop their social, cognitive, spiritual and physical skills. The nursery school is inspired by the educational philosophy of the municipal preschools of Reggio Emilia, Italy, which believes that young children are competent and capable from birth, and that children, parents and teachers are equals in the learning process. The school's staff includes a music teacher, child psychologist, speech therapist and occupational therapist.
