Rye Rec Turkey Run Coming on Saturday

Rye police have issued a traffic warning for Midland Avenue, Milton Road, Forest Avenue and Milton Point between 9:30 and 11:30 a.m.

Rye Recreation’s 37th Annual Turkey Run will be held Saturday, Nov. 30, with three events starting at 9 a.m.:

  • 9 a.m.: Paws Walk
  • 9:30 a.m: 1-mile race
  • 10 a.m.: 3.1- and 5-mile races

Check-in starts at 8 a.m. It’s a $15 for all races. On raceday, those pre-registered can collect their race numbers outside the lower shelter. Day of race registration takes place inside the downstairs room at Rye Rec.

Rye police issued this traffic warning: "The Annual Rye Recreation Turkey Run will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2013, beginning and ending at Rye Rec on Midland Avenue. Some minor traffic congestion and brief closures may result in the Midland Avenue, Milton Road, Forest Avenue, and Milton Point areas between 9:30 A.M. and 11:30 A.M. Please use caution for runners/walkers in the roadway. Thank you."
