Farmers Markets, Howliday Shopping and Inside Baseball

Here are some activities for the weekend around the Sound Shore.

1. Farmers markets are still in full swing in the Sound Shore area. Plenty of fresh seasonal produce and other goodies are still available from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Down to Earth Farmers Market in New Rochelle (North Avenue in front of the high school). And from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in Larchmont is the Down to Earth Farmers Market held at the Metro-North train station. From 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday in Rye, the Down to Earth Farmers Market will be held in the parking lot behind Purchase Street stores. Produce available now includes cabbage, broccoli, Brussels sprouts and squash.

2. Start your holiday shopping for your special pet from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Howliday Shopping event at the New Rochelle Humane Society. Come see the many pet-related items on sale. 3. The Sunday Series at the Larchmont Public Library presents sports publicist and former football and baseball television producer Marty Appel at 4 p.m. Sunday in the Village Center. Author of 16 books, including Pinstripe Empire: The New York Yankees from before the Babe to after the Boss, Appel has the inside playbook on everyone from the Babe to the Boss. The library is located at 121 Larchmont Ave. in Larchmont. The event is free.

4. B.Y.O.K. (Bring Your Own Kids) Concert Series presents Tim and the Space Cadets at 4:30 p.m. Saturday. This musical extravaganza for families with kids in 2nd grade and younger will get you and your kids dancing through the witching hour. We’ll dine on pizza after the music. 5. Help the Port Chester Rams Booster Club support the students at the Holiday Boutique, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the middle school gym, 113 Bowman Ave. in Port Chester. There will be over 40 vendors, a visit from Rammy Clause, crafts for kids and something on your list for everyone at a reasonable price.
