Carver Center Breaks Ground

The Carver Center will break ground on a new playground on Sept. 6 at 1 p.m. The playground is made possible by a donation from the Lone Pine Foundation.

Ron Berler, journalist and author of Raising the Curve: A Year Inside of One of America's 45,000 Failing Public Schools, will be at the Rye Free Reading Room at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7, to talk about his experience at Brookside Elementary School in Norwalk, Connecticut.

Central Avenue Bridge Scheduled to Reopen Friday

The City of Rye Ribbon will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Central Avenue Bridge, which is scheduled to reopen Friday morning.

 Rye Library Exhibit

 “From Century One to the Next Chapter,” an exhibit of photographs, artifacts and documents chronicling the library building’s first 100 years of service will be on display at the Rye Free Reading Room from September 3 to 27.

 Memorial Mass for Fernanda Gomez Saturday

A mass for Fernanda Gomez will be held on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 10:45 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Church. Gomez was one of four killed in a horrific car crash on Sunday morning. Our thoughts go out to the friends and family of the four young people involved in the deadly accident.
