Butterfly Release; Chazz Palmenteri, New Ro Grand Market

Port Chester: Chazz Palminteri
Where: The Capitol Theatre
When: Saturday, June 1 at 8 p.m.
Price: Tickets from $45 to $150
Description: A Bronx Tale- In 1989 Chazz Palminteri wrote a one man show about a killing he saw in the Bronx when he was nine years old. He performed it at a little theatre in Hollywood California. It became a hit and the most sought after property since Rocky. With only two hundred left in the bank and million dollar offers, he refuse to sell his play unless he played Sonny and wrote the screenplay. He held out and got his wish with Robert De Niro. Chazz will perform the original one man show he did in 1989 that made him a star.


Irvington: Beltaine — a Celtic Celebration of Summer
Where: Irvington Public Library (12 S. Astor St.)
When: Saturday, June 1 at 2 p.m.
Cost: Free
Description: Cate and Michael Cain, directors of Avoca Music School, will be performing traditional Irish ballads and jigs to welcome the arrival of summer. Traditional Irish step dancing will also be demonstrated.

Larchmont-Mamaroneck:
Larchmont Historical Society’s Spring House Tour 2013 “What’s Cooking?"
Where: Throughout Larchmont

Cost: $45 for LHS members/$50 for non-members

Description: Please join us for what will be a visual and culinary feast as chefs from Anna Maria’s, Coriander, Crush, España, Meateria, Plates, Vintage 1891 and Wasabi Restaurants prepare and serve delicious selections in eight historical Larchmont kitchens! Plus, new this year—as guests tour houses from the water to Winged Foot, there will be fun Silent Auction items in every home! Reception to follow at The Flower Bar, 11 Addison St., from 4-6 p.m.

New Rochelle: New Rochelle Downtown Grand Market
Where: 1 Library Plz., New Rochelle
When: Saturday, June 1, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Cost: Free
Description: The new weekly Grand Market opens for the season with over 20 vendors, including Pain Lebris, Migliorelli Farm, Mountain Products Smokehouse, Inc., and Bobolink Dairy and Bakehouse. The featured New Rochelle restaurant this week is Alvin & Friends. There will also be entertainment, arts and crafts and al fresco dining.

Pleasantville: Dixieland Express Jazz Band Concert
Where: Mount Pleasant Public Library
When: Sunday, June 2 at 2 p.m.
Cost: Free
Description: The Dixieland Express Jazz Band specializes in Dixieland tradition of the early 20th century. Much of the group is made up of local musicians. This Sunday’s concert will feature the music of favorites like Al Jolson, George Gerswhin and Ethel Waters.

Rye: Vehicle Fair 2013

Where: Osborn Elementary School, Rye
When: Sunday, June 2, 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Rain or Shine
Cost: Pre-buy tickets online at www.ryelibrary.org for $30 per family (PLUS get two raffle tickets. Buy tickets at the gate for $35 per family (Food not included in ticket price.)
Description: Exciting vehicles to climb, ride and explore. Lots of rides, games and inflatables; Ride, Dump Truck Toss, Bouncy House, Victory Lap Slide, All Aboard Train, Fire Truck Ride, Tiny Tikes, Face Painting and lots more. Entertainment by DJ Anthony Radice. Raffle with great prizes for children and adults. Food provided by Post Road Market and Longford’s Ice Cream.

Rye: Butterfly Release – 3
rd Annual Celebration of Life

Description:
Hospice & Palliative Care of Westchester (HPCW) invites you to celebrate life and commemorate loved ones with a special butterfly release.  Members of the community are invited to purchase butterflies in memory of their loved ones and attend the event.  Butterflies will not be available for purchase on the day of the event. Sleepy Hollow: Park to Park Days

Where: Kingsland Point Park to Horan’s Landing in Sleepy Hollow

When: Starting this Saturday, June 1 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Cost: Free

Description: Starting this Saturday, and on every Saturday between now and Labor Day, the waterfront section of the old General Motors site in Sleepy Hollow will be open so that people can walk from Park to Park. That is, between Kingsland Point Park and Horan's Landing. The gates will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. each Saturday. Come enjoy the outdoors this Summer and take a long stroll along the Hudson!
