What's going on this week in and around Rye:

For those of you who were off last week; a fare increase went into effect on Metro-North’s New Haven Line on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014. This increase will affect ticket prices for travel: between stations within Connecticut; between Connecticut and New York stations; between Rye & Port Chester stations and a limited number of other stations. See http://tinyurl.com/ne9pas7 for more info.

Rye Students return to school on Monday, January 6th, after their vacation.

“Residency For A Reason” Charlie Scopoletti at Garcia’s @ The Capitol Theatre. Doors open at 6pm and show starts at  8pm. Must be 21 and over, tickets are $8. Tuesday nights at Garcia’s @ The Capitol will support a different charity each week by donating proceeds from ticket sales.

On Thursday, January 9th, Marc Cohn and Paula Cole, two acclaimed singer/songwriters. will be at the Tarrytown Music Hall. Marc Cohn's hit “Walking in Memphis” and Paula Cole is best known for her hit “I Don’t Want to Wait” which was the theme song for the hit show Dawson’s Creek.

Thursday, January 9th, Empire City Casino in Yonkers has an Elvis Tribute at 8pm and again at 10pm. You can shake your pelvis with Elvis.
