Looking for other perspectives.

Measuring success by material gain is a self-fulfilling prophesy because it must logically create an all or nothing environment ultimately.  If to have is success then to have it all is to be the most successful yet in order to have it all, all must have nothing and if all have nothing there can be none ultimately.

If environment is habitat, I assert that teaching that much more than need is greed rather than having more is always better will create the habit which will change the habitat. By changing the habitat to one of savings instead of spending, the chances are better that a space rock will take us out instead of doing it ourselves. Saving money is the first step but not the destination.  By spending less you will consume less and by consuming less there will be more saved for all thus ensuring a future for any.

Nature provides the canvass, paints brushes and subject matter and nurture is the artist who paints the picture that the future will see.

The first hand to put brush to canvas is you, change your habits and the habitat you create will change, setting off a chain reaction carried through your progeny.

My point, for those further in the back, is that there is a way out for all interested parties and I think it is safe to say that considering what MUST happen otherwise, that's everyone.

It will not happen in the life times of anyone here or their children or grandchildren but it will happen with their kids, if we start today. The longer we wait, the harder it will be to do and the longer it will take while each is trying to get it all.

Lips that speak of the future while attached to head that doesn't think long term, with ears that can’t hear the voice of history and eyes that can’t see beyond end of its nose can kiss my entire ass.
