Westchester Heritage Festival to Feature Jewish Music and Arts

The annual Westchester Jewish Music and Arts Festival is Sunday, July 28th from 12:00noon to 6:00pm.

The annual Westchester Jewish Music & Arts Festival will take place on Sunday, July 28, 2013 from 12:00 noon to 6 p.m. at the Kensico Dam Plaza in Valhalla.   The festival is part of Westchester County's series of cultural heritage celebrations for 2013.

The festival is presented by The Westchester Jewish Council, The Westchester Klezmer Program, The Workmen’s Circle, and Kol Hazzanim, The Cantors of Westchester in cooperation with Westchester County Parks.

The event is free and open to the public and will be held rain or shine.  Attendees are welcome to bring chairs, blankets, and picnics.  Kosher food will be available for purchase.  A vendor exhibition area including Jewish Art/Judaica will be open throughout the festival.

Headlining the event is The Afro-Semitic Experience, an ensemble dedicated to preserving, promoting, and expanding the rich cultural and musical heritage of the Jewish and African diaspora.  Other performers include the Westchester Klezmer Program Band, Sruli & Lisa Family Klezmer Band, Kol Rinah, and The Mama Doni Band.  Mega Bubble Man and “Making Faces Parties” face painters will also provide family fun at the event.
