Want to Try Kayaking? Rye Recreation Offers Paddles in August

There are family paddles, wine & cheese paddles for the 21+ set, and harbor coast paddles for ages 13 and up. Registration deadline is five days before scheduled paddle event.

Here's a fun summer activity in Rye. The Rye Recreation Department has organized a variety of paddle sessions that continue through August.

  • Family Paddle, Ages 8 and up, Sat., Aug. 3rd, 10:00am - 12:00pm
  • Harbor Coast Paddle, Ages 13 and up: Sat., Aug. 10th, 2:00pm - 4:00pm
  • Wine and Cheese Paddle, Ages 21 and up, Sat., Aug. 17th 5:00pm - 7:00pm
The program location is the DePauw Marina at the Rye Boat Basin, 650 Milton Rd. To register or for more information call Rye Recreation at (914) 967-2535. The Recreation Department will reduce your fee if you provide your own kayak. Life jackets are required and provided. The registration deadline is five days prior to the scheduled paddle.

Mountain Valley Guides provide the Rye Paddle tours in conjunction with Rye Recreation Department.
