Three Run Third Inning Leads Trojans to Victory

Blind Brook Trojans defeat Bronxville Broncos 3-1.

Three runs in the third inning helped lead the Blind Brook Trojans defeat the Bronxville Broncos Monday.

In the 3-1 victory on Senior Day, the Trojans redeemed themselves after failing to score with the bases loaded in the second.

Blind Brook's Pitcher Tom Triglia made it to first base on a bunt in a big third inning to eventually score the Trojans' first run off a Kyle Hollander single to left for a 1-0 lead.

Trojan Lance Freundlich then hit a double, which brought in Kevin Goldberg and Hollander for a 3-0 score.

The Broncos scored their only run in the fourth, but Triglia and the rest of the Trojans put them away with great defense and Goldberg sealed the Trojans' victory in the top of the seventh on a double play from a strikeout and line drive hit.

Triglia struckout six batters in the sixth and third innings he pitched.

Goldberg didn't give up any hits.

Blind Brook Head Coach Jon Dakers was pleased with his team's performance especially on Senior Day.

"With today being Senior Day it was great to have our seniors step up on the mound and defensive plays," he said.

The Trojans next play Friday against a to be determined opponent.

Section One Playoff decisions will be made on Wednesday with announcements on Thursday.
