Some Rye-area sports teams saw their seasons come to a close this week, while others took home a sectional championship trophy and advanced to the regional playoffs.
Rye Garnets
The No. 1 seeded Garnets are the 2010 Section One Division II Ice Hockey Champions.

Following a 5-1 quarterfinal win over Fox Lane last week, the Garnets were successful yet again with a 4-1 victory over Sleepy Hollow Irvington last Saturday.
The two wins led Rye to a 7-1 Division II championship over Yorktown Sunday and a three-game winning streak.

Rye's Taka Katsuta led the Garnets with one goal and three assists. Paul Mundinger also came up big with two goals and one assist.
Next up for the Garnets is a state playoff game tonight at 8 p.m. against Queensbury at Playland.
Blind Brook Trojans
After advancing to the Section One Class C semi-final game, North Salem and Section One Top 1o player Danielle Fiacco got the best of the Lady Trojans, after North Salem defeated the team 43-29 at the County Center. Blind Brook won two out of their final three games to finish the season at 9-11.
The Blind Brook boys basketball season continues after beating Valhalla in the Section Class C championship game at the County Center Monday, 46-32. Lance Freundlich scored 14 points in the win and was named game MVP.
The Trojans have gone 3-0 in the playoffs and travel to Vassar College in Poughkeepsie for a 5 p.m. regional semi-final game against John A. Coleman High School Wednesday.
RCDS Wildcats
Both Wildcat basketball teams began competition in the New York State Association of Independent Schools (NYSAIS) state playoff Thursday, with the boys beating Columbia Prep 64-48. The girls played away at Poly Prep, winning 56-36.
