Volleyball

The Rye Garnets volleyball team is still winless this season, but the team is hoping for a turnaround. The Garnets lost two straight against the Port Chester Rams, including a 3-1 defeat in the second game of the series Thursday.  There is a good a chance that the players first victory of the season is within reach especially with three home games beginning Monday with Mamaroneck at 5 p.m., Horace Greeley on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m., and Fox Lane on Thursday also at 4:30 p.m.

 Cross Country

Rye cross country runners had to wait another week to compete after their next scheduled meet at Byram Hills was cancelled. No makeup date has been set. Tuesday's home meet against Port Chester at 4:15 p.m. gives the Rams one last test and opportunity to record better times before the Westchester League Meet at Byram Hills October 12 at 4:30 p.m.
