After leading 3-1 at the end of the first and trailing 5-2 at the start of the second, the Garnets scored six goals to lead 7-6 at the half thanks to one goal each from Garrett Chapman, Christian Bonaventura, and Jack O'Callaghan.

The Tigers came back to tie it at 7-7 in the third, but Rye would develop a 9-7 lead on a O'Callaghan goal with less than a minute left entering the fourth.

That was the last goal Rye would score, as the Tigers scored four goals in the fourth to edge out the Garnets for the 10-9 final.

O'Callaghan led Rye with four goals, with Matt McReddie scoring two. Briggs Barton, Christian Bonaventura, and Garrett Chapman each had one goal and one assist.

Michael Linehan had 14 saves in goal for the Garnets.

Putnam Valley's Ryan Fitzgerald had five goals for the Tigers.

This is the second time this season the Garnets have played the Tigers. The teams previously met on April 17 and in that game the Tigers defeated the Garnets 9-5.

A few Rye seniors will be graduating, so the team will lose key players such as Linehan and Midfielder Cole McCormack.
