F & A Victorious Over Legal Eagles

F and A defeats Legal Eagles 21-4.

First place Frank's Italian Restaurant/American Stitch Authority jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the top of the first inning before the third place Legal Eagles tried to make a comeback by scoring three runs.

The rally motivated F and A to score four runs in the top of second for a 10-3 lead over the Eagles.

Four runs in the third and seven runs in the fifth capped the 21-4 win for F and A.

The Eagles had to score four runs in the bottom of the fifth for the the game to continue otherwise it would end per the mercy rule.

They scored one but it wouldn't be enough due to great defensive plays from F and A, stopping the Eagles in their tracks with the bases loaded at several points throughout the evening.

The Eagles had a few good defensive plays, also stopping  F&A from scoring with the bases loaded during a few innings.

F and A Captain Jill Rabius said that her team gained momentum after the Eagles cut the lead in the first inning.

"I think once we started hitting we just couldn't stop," Rabius said.

"They had a big inning which fired us up the rest of the game."

Legal Eagle Coach Rosemarie Hanley said her fellow teammates gave a great effort.

"We gave it our best shot," she said.

Hanley pitched two innings for the Eagles, with Tracy Meyerson pitching the remainder of the game.

Rabius pitched seven for F and A and had five doubles in five at bats.

The Legal Eagles look to rebound Thursday at 6:30 p.m. against Davy Byrnes Rum Runners, while F and A looks to improve their record to nine wins when they play the Pub Ryots next Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
