Daily Sports Digest: Rye Field Hockey Continues Winning Ways

Both Local soccer teams fell as Blind Brook got shut out to Valhalla and Rye fell at Horace Greeley, but the Rye Field hockey team decimated Byram Hills to remain undefeated.

Sport: Girl’s Soccer

Game: Valhalla @ Blind Brook

Score: Blind Brook Lost 3-0

Highlights: Blind Brook fell at home to Valhalla, and even though Nora Fisher fought valiantly in goal for the Trojans, her 16 saves weren’t enough. Vanessa Romero, Brandi Coon, and Lisa George scored for Valhalla while Jade Fumarelli had 8 saves in the win.

 

Sport: Field Hockey

Game: Rye @ Byram Hills

Score: Rye Won 9-0

Highlights: The Garnets remained undefeated as Rye beat Byram Hills 9-0. The Rye defense proved to be impenetrable and the Garnet offense was led by Emma Brinkman’s 3 goals. 

 

Sport: Girl’s Soccer

Game: Rye @ Horace Greeley

Score: Rye Lost 2-0

Highlights: Kelly Barnhardt had 13 saves in a losing effort for the Garnets as Rye fell to the Quakers. Issy Berkey and Lindsay Hall picked up goals for Horace Greeley in the victory.

 

Today’s Schedule:

In boy’s soccer, Rye will host the hated Harrison Huskies at 6.

In boy’s soccer, Blind Brook will travel to Alexander Hamilton for a 4:30 game.

In volleyball, Keio will visit Rye for a 4:30 game.

In volleyball, Blind Brook will host Port Chester at 4:30.
