Strong Starting Pitching Leads Boulders Passed Bears

The Rockland Boulders beat the Newark Bears, 4-1, Tuesday night in Newark.

The Boulders were led by a strong pitching performance from starter Pat Moran, who pitched eight innings, giving up one run on three hits while striking out 11. The 11 strikeouts were one less than Moran’s season high, which also came against Newark.

Rockland jumped out to an early lead when Chris Valencia hit his third home run of the year to give the Boulders a one-run advantage. Cole Kraft followed the homer with a single and scored on a single by Ryan Scoma with some help thanks to an error by Newark, giving Rockland a 2-0 lead before Newark even came to bat.

Ryan Mollica grounded out in the third to score Scoma, giving the Boulders their third run. Mollica drove in Rockland’s fourth run of the game with a solo homer in the eighth.

The Boulders and Bears have split the first two games of their four-game set this week.

Let's look at the appropriateness of this post. First, it's clearly an ad because it points to aRead More specific insurance agent at a specific agency to contact. Second, it attempts to hide being an ad behind what may be useful information (or not). Third, the "person" who posted it doesn't use their real name. Instead, they use a pseudonym Divorce Information NOW. That doesn’t seem terribly reassuring to me. This the third advertising post on the “announcements” space since Rye Patch converted to the new site layout. Seems a bit of a mess to me. But hopefully someone will come along and figure out who the real poster is, their link to the advertised agent and agency, and then delete the post. After all, if it’s an ad, it should be labeled as such and the poster should pay for having it run. If that doesn’t happen, Patch won’t be able to pay its employees to keep real content on the site.
